Life in a Bubble

Anish Kapoor Sculpture outside the Royal Academy of Arts, London. I cloned out some cars that were parked outside the buildings in order to make a clean line of the people queuing up all around the square to get into the exhibition.

Northumbrian Beach

Not sure if you have seen this one before. I added in the walkers and dogs. The sky is real.

State of the Art

You have probably seen this before in colour but I worked on it and think it is much improved in mono. Less fussy. Darkened the table down considerably and also the patterns on the curtains behind. This is also going in the comp tonight as a print. It has already done well as a digital image and we are allowed to enter same photo twice in different competitions.

DEAD BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Some scary old oaks which stand in a field close to Sam's farm. I think they must have a preservation order on them. I did add a bit of sky top left as it was completely clear and didn't look balanced. Also added the wee tree far right and cloned out some far left that were cut off.

Questions to consider

When is a picture better in Black and white than color?

When is it better in Monochrome than either color or black and white?

What subjects makes the best monochromes or BWs?

When is high contrast better and when is a full range of detail better?

Comments?  Further questions?

BW Bride

I took this with a long lens and low light, so considering that, it came out reasonably well--she was not posing for me or anyone else, just playing.
